Industry Council on the Environment

www.ice-texas.org

Meets monthly on the third Thursday in Austin , Texas. The only exceptions are December meetings. In the December meeting prior to a Texas Legislature session, which begins in January of odd years, ICE typically meets on the second Wednesday in December. Its presentation then features legislative journalists, lobbyists and former state representatives previewing the session's likely issues of note. This is a show not to be missed -- December 10th, 2008!

Trinity University Engineering Department -- Cal Chapman has been a member of this department's Board of Advisors since 2001. The Board meets in November and April, often helping the faculty and staff with issues related to curriculum enhancement, Senior Design project support, the annual Industry Day event for sophomore students to visit businesses and get a "real world" sense of engineering employment.

TCEQ Commissioner Agenda -- held in Austin at the Building E hearings room at the TCEQ campus, this agenda session offers the visible proof of all the issues that TCEQ staff, management and conmissioners regulate. It is an education, every time, for anyone wanting to attend or to track through webcast.

TCEQ Trade Fair, first week of May -- this very successful and popular trade fair has been sponsored and put on by TCEQ event staff since 1993. Chapman Engineering staff regularly attend for classroom training, and to staff the ICE booth. It is a terrific opportunity for our people to catch up with friends in the regulating world, customers, fellow industry performers, and friends.

TCEQ/ICE/TASTP PST Compliance and Assistance Seminar -- held each December in Austin or Roundrock, this is the only comprehensive "Petroleum Storage Tank" compliance assistance event held in Texas. There may be no other conference in the U. S. quite like it. Held annually since 1999 (except for a one-year hiatus in 2001), it was the brainchild of Ken Hilliard (of 7-11 Corporation and a co-founder of ICE in 1989) and Dick Patyrak, then with Centerpoint/Reliant Energy and chairman of ICE. Each of these gentlemen served on the ICE board for many years, bringing tremendous industry experience to the fray. ICE sponsored the first two seminars, then was able to get TCEQ to take the lead position with industry support.

Cal Chapman has been the featured speaker on "The Other Leak Detection Methods" (all UST release detection methods except for statistical inventory reconciliation [SIR] and automatic tank gauges [ATG's] at this seminar for every year it has taken place.

If you are looking for technical speakers, Mr. Chapman may be available for presentations on petroleum storage tank matters, risk-based corrective action for petroleum, heavy metals, chlorinated solvent and other environmental contaminants, or for corrosion protection, water quality, conservation development and similar topics.
