Corrective Action / Site Remediation
On all projects, the risk to human health and the environment determines the degree or type of cleanup needed. In some cases, and where government regulatory programs even direct or recommend it, a site "corrective action" may be done by limiting access to the site, putting physical barriers around contamination plumes, and putting land use restrictions on property deeds. These cleanup solutions must be balanced according to the risks involved, the long-term property uses desired, the regulatory programs driving the corrective action, and the exposure to neighbors, the general public, and plants or animals.

Whether it is a ranch being considered for development, which has an old animal dipping vat or an illegal landfill, we know the protocols for checking these potential concerns. Old dry cleaners, service stations, or small industrial shops all pose interesting assessment challenges, as they are considered for changes in operation, redevelopment, or to bring into compliance with applicable rules.
